All of them have now emerged out of their chrysalises. We enjoying watching them fly around their enclosure and nibble on oranges. We are excited for our upcoming Rideau Park School Elementary Sports Day on June 18th in the morning! There will be a Canada Day theme with teams divided up into provinces and territories - please dress in red and/or white. Our grade 8 leadership students will be leading each activity. Parents are welcome to come partake in the fun.
We are teaming up with Family Freezed Popsicle Truck again this year! Please send in $4 to your child's teacher by Friday, June 15th if your child would like to have a popsicle as part of our rest and refreshment station. After the festivities, around 11:30 am, there will be various child-friendly food and beverage trucks for a big Rideau Park Picnic. Parents and family members are welcome to join! Junior High students are welcome to purchase items from the food trucks starting at noon. Please send money with your student if they'd like to participate. Prices range from $5-$10 per item for hot dogs, hamburgers, quesadillas, fries, cookie dough, lemonade and more.... Hope to see you there! https://www.yycfoodtrucks.com/international-ukrainian-fine-foods-1 https://www.yycfoodtrucks.com/international-take-it-go https://www.yycfoodtrucks.com/sweet-treats-cookie-dough-yyc https://www.yycfoodtrucks.com/sweet-treats-family-freezed Today the students worked in small groups at 6 different stations sort objects and shapes. They were given a variety of 2D shapes and 3D objects and determined different ways to organize them. The kids then worked to draw and write 3 different ways they sorted. Just a reminder that payments for field trips are due! Please pay online through the CBE Powerschool. We are continuing to collect Zoo payments for our May 15 trip.
